Hi all,
I have had to deal with a vtp issue on the cats used in lab 5A a couple of time now. The setup is CAT3 is server and CAT4 is client. The problem is that CAT4 is not receiving updates from CAT3, so doesn't have required vlans for the lab. I have verified domain, password, etc, and nothing appears to be wrong but vtp stat keeps reporting : *** MD5 digest checksum mismatch on trunk: Fa0/23 *** *** MD5 digest checksum mismatch on trunk: Fa0/24 *** Research on Cisco.com and the web indicates this is a password problem. I have removed, verified, modified all to no effect the problem still exists. I have deleted the vlan.dat files and rebooted the switches, nothing seems to work. I have ended up just putting CAT4 in transparent mode and moving on, but I am curious what the actual problem is. Any ideas??
