Jimmy,

If you change the subnet on the Virtual machines you need to inform support
to reset the physical interfaces. VMware caches the IP's for quicker
response and when you change subnets that cache needs to be cleared.

Also remember

The student NIC has the following routes for example:

Persistent Routes:

Network Address Netmask Gateway Address Metric

          1.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 192.1.49.4 1

          2.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 192.1.49.4 1

          4.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 192.1.49.4 1

          5.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 192.1.49.4 1

          6.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 192.1.49.4 1

          7.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 192.1.49.4 1

          9.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 192.1.49.4 1

         10.1.1.0 255.255.255.0 192.1.49.4 1

         10.2.2.0 255.255.255.0 192.1.49.4 1

         10.4.4.0 255.255.255.0 192.1.49.4 1

         10.5.5.0 255.255.255.0 192.1.49.4 1

         10.6.6.0 255.255.255.0 192.1.49.4 1

         10.7.7.0 255.255.255.0 192.1.49.4 1

         10.8.8.0 255.255.255.0 192.1.49.4 1

         10.9.9.0 255.255.255.0 192.1.49.4 1

          8.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 192.1.49.4 1

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>ipconfig

192.1.49.4 is no longer your gateway so you need to fix the routing.

If you don't want to have this problem in the future leave the addressing
the same on the XP and ACS machines and you will rarely run into this issue.

You should be all set now on your pod though.

Subject: Re: [OSL | CCIE_Security] Connectivity issues at proctorlabs.com?

To their defence I must say that most of the time the response is quite
quick. It feels like the response is instant (even at night) if the issue is
easily solvable, but there are rarely any response on this "trickier"
issues.

For example: several hours after filing this connectivity issues there was
still no feedback/reaction. I filed another "case" where I simply wanted to
link my adjacent session. Drew answer instantly that that was taken care of,
but nothing about the first case.

Still no response on this issue.

(I move this thread out from OSL now...)

I agree with Jimmy. There should be an After hours live-chat option
available. Us dudes in India can never reach the live chat if we have the
racks scheduled during the day.

It would be awesome if IPX also addressed the fact that many of it's
customers are not in the US time zones.
