"Industry standard" depends very much on who you ask. Cisco would probably tell you the best method is to use Ciscoworks Security Manager, which uses Resource Manager Essentials to backup and store configs. This is not inexpensive.
Other options are Solarwinds NCM or the open-source Rancid. At $DAYJOB we currently use Rancid to backup approx. 50 ASA's every 4 hours but are in the process of moving to NCM. B* -- Brian C Landers http://www.packetslave.com/ CCIE #23115
