As Bruno stated, it is used for DMVPN Phase 3.

Technically, "ip nhrp redirect" should be configured on the hub which
informs to spokes to send packet directly. It's function is very similar  to
the *"ip redirect**s".*.

And "ip nhrp shortcut" should be configured on the spoke which fixes the CEF
table accordingly.

But I have seen Cisco docs configuring both the commands on the hub and
spoke.

I use them both.
