Win2003 also gives you the option of configuring autoenrollment for your certificates. This is probably not asked at Cisco exam, but something very useful for real world scenarios.

You may want to install Win 2003 Enterprise, if you have a copy. That is so that you can create a certificate template where you can export the private key. The Web Server template in Win2003 Standard does not allow for that. You may be able to use OpenSSL for creating the CSR for the WLCs - I have not tried that method for a Windows CA. Also, if you do use OpenSSL, download version 0.9.6. Version 1.0.0.0 is not compatible with the WLCs, including up through 7.0 code. I have seen reference that someone also had problems with this (https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2015441). There is a feature request to add support for 1.0.0 (http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCti65315). The thread and the FR mention using 0.9.8, but I also had issues with that version. Jason Boyers - CCIE #26024 (Wireless) Technical Instructor - IPexpert, Inc.
