Oh - I take back what I've said before :(
But I guess we can finally agree that you have to study as hard as you can AND
you need a lot of luck too ...

I know of someone that passed the lab but failed the OEQs. This is the most
discouraging fact for me about retaking the test right now - the worry that all
of my studying can be rendered pointless by a poor selection of questions.

Yes, but I guess nobody passed the lab part but failed finally because of the
OEQs.
At least I hope nobody ever did, because that would be too frustrating :(

Stefan

Hi Bobby,

I agree with Ralph - if you are well prepared for the hands-on lab part, you
don't have to care about the OEQs.
Guess nobody ever failed the CCIE-W just because of the OEQs :) ...

Good luck!

Welcome Bobby,

There are many homemade lists of what the OEQ may look like but no one really
knows.

The thing with OEQ is that they are core knowledge. So if you did wireless and
routing switching for 6 years dont worry.

A core question in my book could be "how many non overlapping Channels are
available in 802.11b"

I hope you get my point. And good luck on your lab.

Hi all,

My name is Bobby Di Petrillo and I recently joined the OSL group (been
lurking for a week or so) and it seems like a great resource! I have taken a
bootcamp recently and have been working with a few workbooks to strengthen my
skills before my lab date later this month. To give a background on myself, I
work for a med sized VAR in the realms of wireless, security, routing and
switching. I have been studying dedicated to IE wireless for 1.5 years, with
5-6 years of Cisco Wireless experience in small to medium size environments
(2000 or less APs) in various verticals.

Aside from the wealth of information in the archives regarding specific
technical tasks, I am primarily looking to collaborate with other prospective
CCIE'ers to get a feel for what the OEQs are going to be asking, and this list
was highly regarded for that purpose. I did have a peek through the archives
and noticed there was an OEQ list a while back, and I took a stab at completing
all the questions, but I am wondering if there is a more up to date / challenge
oriented OEQ list? My approach up till this point has been reading the heck
out of the recommended reading list, but I feel like a flashcards / question
sheet could definitely provide some supplementary value, especially if already
evaluated by candidates that have passed or sat for the lab.

I am guessing that list may already been in plain sight and I might just be
missing it because I'm an OSL newbie; so if I am not using the archives
correctly or just being stupid, don't hesitate to set me straight!

Thanks in advance everyone, and happy labbing.

Bobby
