I have CME in my LAB. I wanted it to register the 7921 and one wired phone for testing. I doesn´t hurt if you can get it up and running to see how it is done. And also on CME the MOH over multicast can be configured for multicast testing. But yeah you don´t have to know how to configure it for the LAB. It is just one of those you might want to take further do deepen the knowledge of wireless voice over ip/QOS/multicast.
For example QOS, it can be interesting to look at show mls qos interface fx/x to see before and after a phone call on the wired phone and to see the call controll QOS handling on the CME port. I could post you a basic CME configuration that I use if you like. It auto registers phones with numbers and I have Multicast routing on it aswell. Then you can test multicast with 7921 when you press hold on the wired phone. regards. Message-ID: <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" As far as configuring CME, that is outside of the scope of the exam. It should be ready for you. The thing you need to concentrate on is end to end QoS and that is to include your CME router. You will also need to know how to configure your 7921 phone so it really wouldn't hurt to have this as part of your lab if your budget can afford it. Message-ID: <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" I agree that it is not the scope of CCIE Wireless however sometimes the problem could come from CME side for example CME port on the switch is not configured properly but unintentionally. It is your responsibility to find out if proctor didn't do a good job. It sounds bad but that can be a part of lab, too. Please make sure you check thoroughly if somehow phone is not registering or you don't get voice in proper queue and etc. Sometimes you can request proctor to reboot the CME if you think it's better option to save time. Just little tip that can help you.(not a burden I am adding) Cheers, Brendon On 18/05/2011, at 6:39 AM, Chad Teal wrote: > As far as configuring CME, that is outside of the scope of the exam. Nope, I guess they've not updated the pages yet. I hope they got rid of Core Knowledge questions, replaced by troubleshooting like in the R&S and Voice labs (not sure for the version 3 SP lab)! We should soon know. At least we should get rid of 4.2 software and the old Location Appliance.
