Hi , group !
I have some QoS related questions and I think that you can help me
1) I would like to test some QoS features and it is interesting whether there
is any kind of specially crafted application for Windows 7 which properly sets
up WMM UP values (other than cisco soft phone) ?
2) According to cisco Document ID: 81831 (QoS on Wireless LAN Controllers and
Lightweight APs Configuration Example) controller Silver QoS profile match to
IEEE 802.1e UP values 3 & 0 (AC_BE) , which are also translated to wired dot1p
0 bits
According to Enterprise mobility guide 4.1 document, Table 5.2 WMM
Designation "best effort" , access category AC_BE , 802.1p Designation BE and
EE (?may be typo) corresponds to 802.1p values 0 and 3
So as I understand , WMM UP values 0 and 3 (of AC_BE) (which are higher
priorities than WMM UP 1 and 2 - AC_BK) are mapped to dot1p value of 0. Right ?
Then according to controller configuration guide document
(http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/7.0/configuration/guide/c70rrm.html#wp1320230)
there is a statement " Silver marks all downlink traffic to UP= 0."
So does it means that when i want to choose off-channel defer for category
AC_BE ("Silver") i need to check only "0" UP checkbox ? Or do i need to check
"0" and "3" checkboxes ?
Regards,
Shahin
