Hi all - I'm working on WB1, lab 5.8 – which involves some multicast configuration on various WLC's. It's all pretty basic until I got this bullet - "No other wireless clients connected to a WLC should be able to receive multicast streams. Do not use any switch configuration for this."
It's the last sentence that has me stumped. I know I can limit multicast with IGMP filters, multicast boundary lists, or even just basic ACL's – but only on the hop before the controller. Unless I've completely misunderstood, once a wireless stream hits the controller it's going to be sent to every AP (and each AP to any requesting client). If multicast reaches the controller, even an ACL applied to the WLAN or interface won't stop it. Have I misunderstood? Unfortunately, the solution guide doesn't explain or show an answer that I see so I'm curious how you could solve the requirement. Thanks - Jay Killion, CCIE #17873 R/S
