A reminder that the 2006 Gordon Research Conference on Diffraction
Methods in Structural Biology will be held in July this year (see below
for details). The program features talks from leaders in the field of
structural biology methods development, and talks highlighting difficult
structure solutions including the 70S ribosome (Jamie Cate, UC
Berkeley), Dicer (Jennifer Doudna, UC Berkeley), and Fatty acid synthase
(Timm Maier, ETH). The program also features talks about structural
methods such as cryo-EM, electron diffraction, neutron diffraction,
electron cryo-tomography (Grant Jensen, Caltech) and diffractive imaging
(Chris Jacobsen, SUNY).
The number of attendees it limited to approximately 135, and the
registration list is filling fast. Applicants are being accepted on a
first-come first-served basis.

Gordon Research Conference on Diffraction Methods in Structural Biology
July 16-21, 2006 Bates College, Lewiston, Maine, USA
Co-Chairs: Paul Adams & Elspeth Garman
==========================================================================
The 2006 Gordon Research Conference on Diffraction Methods in Structural
Biology will encompass advances in the methodology for macromolecular
X-ray crystallography, and other diffraction/scattering applications.
Particularly significant structural results will be highlighted during
the meeting. All participants are expected to contribute
extensively to discussion, to present either a talk or a poster, and to
attend the entire conference.
The current scientific program can be found on the web at:
http://www.grc.org/programs/2006/diffrac.htm
Information about the meeting location can be found at:
http://www.grc.org/sites/me/bc/bc.htm
To apply to attend the meeting please go to the Gordon Conference Web Site:
http://www.grc.org/application/
We will be accepting applications to attend on a first-come first-served
basis. The Gordon Research Conferences (GRC) has limited funds available
to support the participation of eligible minority students, faculty and
scientists at Gordon Research Conferences during 2006. Applicants
interested in applying for the Carl Storm Underrepresented Minority
Fellowship can find information and an online application at:
https://www.grc.org/csf/CSF1.asp?id=1420432
The Carl Storm International Diversity Fellowship program has limited
funds to support graduate students and post docs who are of non-U.S.
nationality and are currently based outside of the U.S., at Gordon
Conferences. The Chair nominates a candidate for support. Potential
candidates for this Fellowship should be of a demographic that is
considered by the Chair to be underrepresented in the field of Diffraction.
The GRC has limited funds to support scientists from Eastern Europe and
the Former Soviet Union (EEF/FSU) - one scientist per conference. The
meeting Chair nominates an attendee for support (up to $500).
