According to the CCP4 CVS here:
http://www.ccp4.ac.uk/ccp4bin/viewcvs/ccp4/src/maprot_/maprot.f?graph=1

that code has not change between release 4.1 and 6.0. See here:
http://www.ccp4.ac.uk/ccp4bin/viewcvs/ccp4/src/maprot_/maprot.f.diff?r1=1.4%3Arelease-4_1&tr1=1.4&r2=1.7%3Arelease-6_0&tr2=1.7&diff_format=h

However, it is certainly true that the in map on MAPIN must cover the range 0..nu-1, 0..nv-1, 0..nw-1, so you need to run mapmask first.

Hi,

I was running a script with "maprot" command on a density map
(grids 256 256 256, grid range -127 128, -127 128, -127 128)
using an older version of CCP4 (v4.1) and I saw no problems.
Now I am using a relatively newer version of CCP4 (v5.0) and
I see the following error :

maprot: ERROR - input map must cover unit cell

Can someone help me with why this is happening ?
Obviously I have not kept track of all the changes with every new release.

thank you in advance.
-Padma
