The Biological Crystallization Resource (BCR) is a database that has been constructed on the premise that there are distinct relationships to be discovered between the properties of biological macromolecules and the optimal crystallization conditions found for these. Through the use of advanced data mining and manipulation techniques the BCR is able to execute multiple parameter searches where the resultant output allows researchers to more quickly arrive at the optimal crystallization conditions for the macromolecule under investigation. We are pleased to announce that BCR is now available for public use. The BCR URL is www.growacrystal.com. A free demonstration version of the database targeting the customized crystallization screen design of the carboxylic ester hydrolases (E. C. 3. 1. 1. -) and a manual detailed the access and application of the database can be found at the above web site.
