Hi folks The latest Mosflm (version 6.2.6) is now available for download. Essentially it has bug fixes and has had some performance issues addressed. The only new major feature is being able to use a local background (keywords "FINDSPOTS LOCAL") in the spot finding for autoindexing rather than the radial background used up until now. This is especially useful when dealing with very long cell axes where adjacent spots are not fully resolved. It is also useful with weakly diffracting crystals, and for images with asymmetric or noisy backgrounds. Because various parameters associated with the spot finding are still being optimised, and because this option takes a bit longer, it has not yet been made the default. Mosflm version 6.2.6 will not run correctly with the new interface, iMosflm, (or vice versa). Users who wish to try iMosflm should see Geoff Battye's notes on http://alf1.mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk/~geoff/mosflm.
