[EMAIL PROTECTED] Website: http://takedasd.com/career/detail.php?keyID=119&department_name=Structural+Biology Scientist-- Structural Biology San Diego Jobcode 210-SciCB-0506 Job Description: "Qualifications: * "At least 3 years of industrial experience, or the equivalent, on the purification, biophysical characterization, modification, crystallization of challenging eukaryotic proteins, including membrane associated proteins. * "Ph.D or equivalent in experience required. * "Experience in protein crystallization and protein small molecule complex structure determination, including the use of common software packages for these purposes. * "Experience using a wide variety of protein purification techniques, including affinity and classical purification methods to produce active, highly purified and concentrated proteins * "Ability to work as an independent researcher in a high-throughput protein production and purification environment, working with a number of different samples in parallel while maintaining sample integrity * "Interest in learning and developing new protein purification, modification, and analytical skills * "Excellent organization, communication, and record-keeping skills * "Some familiarity with signaling pathways associated with cancer or metabolic disease "Job Responsibilities: * "Conduct independent protein purification projects, including challenging targets such as membrane proteins * "Characterize eukaryotic proteins by spectrophotometric and chromatographic methods and improve chances of success in crystallization by modification and/or extra purification * "Conduct milligram scale purifications of target proteins, and deliver active proteins at very high levels of purity and concentration * "Grow crystals of target proteins and solve structures from the collected x-ray data sets * "Work with other group members to improve current processes and workflows, and look for ways to improve output within the department * "Maintain accurate lab records, and enter those records into the Company systems in a timely manner * "Participate in intra-company drug discovery teams and provide leadership to team members involved in protein purification and analysis How to apply Please note all inquiries with job code.
