I'm a convert to NX/FreeNX now completely: by opening a ssh tunnel to
your lab-machine you are then able to open a window on your home
computer that has a complete desktop in it. And it uses some very
fancy compression methods ... don't ask me what.
Hi Clemens, does NX/FreeNX support OpenGL? E.g. can you run coot on
the remote
server and the viewer at home?
It does work :-)
Although the efficiency was rather impressive when I tried it
yesterday ... I would still install it locally
and copy over the files instead ;-)
An impressive feature of NX is the fact you can print on your local
printer and access your local disks
when you have the remote application ! (you need a local SAMBA server
for that, thats my project for the weekend though ...)
A.
Thanks!
Cheers,
