Are you looking to play a key role within one of the world's leading
pharmaceutical companies? Structural Chemistry is a global AstraZeneca
function with facilities in the UK and Sweden. We support projects across a
number of major disease areas by providing 3D structural information on
proteins and protein-ligand complexes.
Our Structural Chemistry department encompasses three disciplines at each
site: Protein Crystallography, Protein NMR and Protein Engineering. Within
Protein Crystallography, we have two teams - one focusing on Crystallisation
and one on Crystallography. We're looking for an experienced individual to
head up this latter team.
Supervising between six and eight PhD protein crystallographers, you will be
responsible for ensuring smooth operation of our infrastructure and
workflow, and communicating with different customer groups and the wider
Structural Chemistry teamIn addition to a PhD in protein crystallography,
you will also bring at least five years' postdoctoral experience that
includes some team leadership and mentoring. In addition to strong technical
expertise in protein crystallography, you will also have experience of
structure-based drug design and the proven ability to work effectively
across a portfolio of projects.
