Team Leader positions are available in the protein engineering section of the Structural Chemistry Laboratory (SCL) at AstraZeneca in Mölndal, Sweden. The main mission of SCL is to provide and promote the use of protein structural information in drug discovery with an increasing focus on assisting the lead generation process. The laboratory has now around 40 scientists engaged in experimental research and the core disciplines are protein engineering, NMR spectroscopy and protein crystallography. You will lead a small team of 3-5 scientists working on the production of human target proteins for structural analysis. The work will cover activities in molecular biology, protein purification and biophysical characterization. You will be responsible for people management and coaching of team members. You will also drive discipline development and work for considerable part of your time on project work. We are looking for an expert in protein engineering for structural biology. You should have a PhD complemented with post-doctoral experience in the field or similar working experience. You have strong leadership skills and it is a strong advantage with experience in people management.
