Hi all,

I just put ubuntu 6.06.1 onto a new amd64 machine (wow! easy!). I simply took the RH executables (32bit) and installed them with no difficulty. ccp4i runs immediately (I didn't need to muck about with bltwish--it was already there in /usr/local/bin).

Anyway, here's my issue:

When I launch ccp4i, I get a message stating that:

i) I am the first person to run this version (gosh, that makes me feel special!); ii) The program is trying to write info in /usr/local/....../unix/configure.def; and iii) I don't have permission to do this, so I should go get the adult who installed ccp4i and have THEM configure it.

It then assures me that it's OK to continue running ccp4i, and in fact it is,

        EXCEPT

there is no "System Administration" button, so I can't do things like install arp/warp, etc. (I'm assuming there is still such a button in ccp4 6.0, since my last install was somewhere in the 5's).

If I attempt to launch by typing:

        sudo ccp4i

I get the response
         sudo: ccp4i: command not found.

I imagine I'm making some colossally ignorant error, due to the fact that ubuntu has only been in my life for about 24 hours...suggestions?

Thanks,

Pat
