Post-doctoral position in Montpellier, France
A postdoctoral position is available as a joint project of the groups of
Gilles Labesse and Stefan Arold at the Centre de Biochimie Structurale
in Montpellier. The successful applicant will participate in research
involving the structural and functional study of protein-protein and
protein-ligand complexes of Focal Adhesion proteins. This project is
part of a pluridisciplinary study in collaboration with the groups of
Jean-Antoine Girault (Institut du Fer à Moulin, Paris), Bernard Maigret
(eDAM, Nancy) and Christiane Garbay (INSERM U266, Paris).
The project will involve protein expression and purification,
Bioinformatics, as well as biophysical characterisation using
Crystallography, Small Angle X-ray Scattering, Microcalorimetry and
Fluorescence. Previous experience in (some of) these fields is
desirable, experience in molecular biology is a plus.
The Centre de Biochimie Structurale (www.cbs.cnrs.fr), which has
recently been moved into a new and spacious building, provides excellent
facilities. Montpellier has a 800-year long tradition of medical
science, counts over 80,000 students, and harbours a large and dynamic
research community. Equipped with a high-speed train connection and an
international airport, this charming town is perfectly located in the
sunny South of France, 10 min drive from the beach. That's your chance
to live in a place where others would love to go on holiday!
Enquires and applications should be sent to Gilles Labesse
