*Postdoctoral position available at the Carlsberg Laboratory*
*Protein-protein interactions and regulation of enzymes in the
peroxisomal **beta**-oxidation cycle.*
The Biostructure Group at Carlsberg Laboratory studies plant lipid
metabolism from a structural-biological perspective. The Laboratory was
set up in Copenhagen 1875 by the founder of Carlsberg to develop a
scientific basis for malting, brewing, and fermenting operations and it
has a long record in yeast biology and plant physiology.
The majority of plant fatty acids are decomposed /via/ the peroxisomal
beta-oxidation cycle. The pathway is a key component in the oxidative
parts of the biosynthetic pathways leading to the plant hormones
jasmonic acid and indole-3-acetic acid. The present project aims at
identifying protein-protein interactions in this pathway and to
investigate the mechanisms behind substrate channeling. It involves
X-ray crystallographic structure determination, pull-down assays of
protein-protein complexes from plant peroxisomes and characterization of
protein-protein interactions in the peroxisomal beta-oxidation cycle by
small angle scattering, dynamic light scattering and surface plasmon
resonance. Our laboratory is fully equipped for all aspects of molecular
biology, protein chemistry, protein crystallography and biophysical
characterization of proteins.
Applicants must have experience in production and purification of
recombinant proteins. Experience with molecular biology, macromolecular
crystallography and/or biophysical characterization of proteins will be
considered an advantage.
The position is a three-year position with one-year contract
re-negotiation. Inquiries should be directed to: Anette Henriksen,
