Dear List Members, Our apologies for the off-topic post and for possible multiple
messages! We would
like to extend an invitation for you and your group to attend the first Ohio
Valley Macromolecular Crystallography Symposium. The event will take place in
November 2006 at the Genome Research Institute in This
meeting will feature a number of practical talks relating to the process of
solving macromolecular crystal structures. The
day-long symposium will be organized into four sessions and a panel discussion:
We would
like to feature a blend of short talks (10 minutes long) presented by faculty,
industry, postdocs, and students. The emphasis will be on practical, novel, and
useful techniques along the path towards structure determination. Registration
is now open - www.xtals.org
- and will continue until November 1st. Interested individuals are
encouraged to contact the
organizers with suggested topics for presentation. In particular, faculty
members who could recommend a student or postdoc from their group to give a
short talk of general interest in one of these areas are asked to contact us. In order
to keep costs minimal so that whole groups (not just faculty/PIs) will be able
to participate, there will be no registration fee. We are relying on the
generosity of sponsors to cover the associated expenses - if you're interested in sponsoring this event, please
contact the organizers. Anyone
traveling from a distance can contact Artem or Andrew for
suggestions regarding local accommodations. Once an
itinerary has been finalized, it will be sent to everyone. Please feel free to
pass along this information to any colleagues who might be interested. Best
regards, Andrew
& Artem |
