To clear up a few things.

International support is extremely welcome.
Commercial organization support is extremely welcome.

In fact both of these are essential and will count for more than UK
academics.

ANY letter of support from ANYONE is welcome.

Step change, paradigm shifting are anglosaxon phrases that grant agencies
use for politicians. I used them slightly tongue in cheek (meaning half in
jest).

I cannot write your letters of support nor provide templates. The committee
I think will be most impressed by your words.

My suggestion is to right honestly about what you feel as to how these four
aims could help your research. The committee will I hope be impressed by
what research you do or plan to and the role of CCP4 in it.

The aims to summarize again
(1) Working at low resolution, auto refining difficult low resolution
structure
(2) Processing split crystals, weak diffraction and adapting MOSFLM to new
Pilatus detectors
(3) Designing intelligent systems to solve, refine and analyze structures
based on the data in hand rather than flow chart. Helping biologists do the
best job with their data.
(4) Supporting users in installation, training and communication.

My hope is that if we get the next five years right CCP4 will help you do
important things in biology, chemistry and medicine. If you think so too,
then your support is most welcome.

Best
Jim
