Yeah. We ran into this also. But it is easy to fix. You need to install the full set of x11 fonts: urpmi xorg-x11-75dpi-fonts urpmi xorg-x11-100dpi-fonts These are meta-packages that will pull in a large number of additional fonts. In fact I installed several other font packages as well, to match the previous OS version, but I am pretty sure these are the relevant ones. Note that Mandriva 2008 has switched the font management system.
