Postdoctoral position in Structural Biology of Membrane Proteins
One postdoctoral position is available immediately at the Center for Membrane Biology, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. (http://www.uth.tmc.edu/cmb/) The successful candidate will focus on the crystallization and structural determination of an ion transporter protein; you will also have an opportunity to work with other expertise in the center to study its functional characterization. The ideal applicant should be highly motivated individual and have a recent PhD degree in structural biology, biochemistry or molecular biology. Strong background in molecular biology, protein purification and crystallization is expected. The experience with membrane protein will be a plus. The laboratory locates in Texas Medical Center campus which provides an excellent environment for academia and research. Our lab is fully equipped with all aspects of molecular biology, protein biochemistry and protein crystallography. Routine access to ALS beamline 4.2.2 has been granted by molecular biology consortium, a remote ALS data collection system installed in the lab enables instant data collection at Berkeley. To apply, please send a current resume and the names and addresses of three referees to: Dr. Lei Zheng, Center for Membrane Biology, University of Texas HSC, 6431 Fannin St., Houston, TX 77030, USA.
