Dear all

New version of refmac (v 5.5) is now available for use. Please have a look:

www.ysbl.york.ac.uk/refmac/latest_refmac.html

Major new developments are:

1) Maximum likelihood refinement against data from twinned "crystals". Current version allows only one instruction: twin All decisions about twin operators, fractions etc are made automatically. 2) Refinement against SAD target function. If you specify F+ and F- as input to the program then if coordinate file contains anomolous scatterers then the program will do simultaneous phasing and refinement 3) Full list of external restraints (bonds, angles, torsions, interval etc). It means that a user can specify any bond, angle or other restraints he desires
4) Stabilisation of few functionalities like TLS refinement
5) Some bug fixes

If you want to use new options please have a look for keywords: www.ysbl.york.ac.uk/refmac/data/refmac_news.html

Binaries are available for Mac OS intel, MAC OS PPC and linux. Source codes with several makefiles are also available.

If you have any comments or problems please let me or Pavol know

Best regards
Garib
