Complex I is the first enzyme of the respiratory chain and plays a key
role in cellular energy production. You can interactively explore the

For the first time the crystal structure of the entire, intact complex I
has been determined. The structure reveals the organization of its 16
different subunits and provides clues as to how this enzyme works.
