An NIH-funded postdoctoral opening is immediately available in the laboratory
of Dr. Yizhi Jane Tao at Rice University, Houston, TX, USA. The project is to
study RNA virus structure and function using X-ray crystallography, electron
microscopy, and other biochemical/biophysical methods. Successful applicants
are expected to be highly motivated individuals with a Ph.D. in biochemistry or
structural biology.

Our laboratory is equipped with excellent biochemistry and molecular biology
facilities. There is a in-house X-ray diffraction facility together with two
crystal screening robots. We have regular access to synchrotron radiation at
the APS, and there are several electron microscopes on campus for shared use.

Rice University is a private institution located right next to the Texas
Medical Center, the home of 47 institutions including Texas Children’s
Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center and the Baylor College of Medicine. There
is a large structural biology community in Houston that is both intellectually
stimulating and supportive.

Please send inquiries and applications to [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>.
I will be happy to discuss with you about the details of the projects.
