Dear All,

A postdoctoral position is immediately available in Dr. Yang Gao’s lab at Rice
University, Houston. The Gao lab utilizes structural biology techniques to
investigate the molecular mechanisms of DNA replication, repair and
recombination. We employ cryo-electron microscopy, x-ray crystallography, and
various biochemical and biophysical approaches to characterize how enzymes and
motors work together to accomplish these elaborate processes (see Gao’s recent
publications https://science.sciencemag.org/content/352/6291/1334.short,
https://science.sciencemag.org/content/363/6429/eaav7003.abstract and
https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=y296jScAAAAJ&hl=en). The postdoctoral
fellow will be involved in investigating the structural basis of Mitochondria
DNA replication, with cryo-electron microscopy as the major technique. He/She
will carry out in vitro reconstitution and biochemical and structural
characterizations of the Mitochondria DNA replication system.

Applicants should have a Ph. D. degree in biochemistry, structural biology or
related field. Experience in cryo-electron microscopy is a plus but not
required. To apply, please email Dr. Yang Gao at [email protected] or apply through
http://jobs.rice.edu/postings/20510.

Best,
Yang
