A post-doctoral position is available at the Brazilian Biosciences National Laboratory - LNBio (http://lnbio.cnpem.br) in Campinas (São Paulo, Brazil) in Dr. Andrea Dessen’s group. The position involves the structural and biochemical characterization of protein complexes involved in bacterial cell wall formation. Soluble, fiber-forming, and integral membrane proteins are members of these complexes. This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. Candidates should have a recent PhD degree (obtained at less than seven years ago) in Biochemistry, Structural Biology or related disciplines and have published at least one research article in an international peer-reviewed journal as the first author. Candidates should also have practical knowledge of protein complex biochemistry and structure determination. Demonstrated expertise in membrane protein biochemistry will be considered as a plus. Applicants are asked to submit a short CV which should include: a list of publications, a brief description of previous experience and names of referees to Dr. Andrea Dessen ([email protected]) by August 16th, 2019. The short-listed candidates will be contacted and interviewed in early September. The successful candidate will begin in late 2019/early 2020. This 2-year contract is associated to a Grant awarded from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) through its São Paulo Excellence Chair (SPEC) program. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
