Hi All, We at Obsidian Therapeutics are developing regulatable immune and gene therapies. Our platform is based on fusing destabilizing domains to proteins of interest. The protein degrades in the absence of drug and can be stabilized in the presence of drug. Our design philosophy emphasises usage of human protein elements and FDA approved drugs. A position has arisen in my group for an enthusiastic Scientist to help in testing and designing these fusion proteins. The ideal candidate would
1. Be proficient in FACs, WBs, Elisa's, qPCR 2. Have a basic understanding of immunology and immune cells. 3. Be proficient in cell culture, have generated lentivirus, performed viral transductions. 4. Have an understanding of membrane protein structure and insertion. 5. Understand protein secretion, folding and degradation pathways. 6. Have successfully performed protein design and/or rational mutagenesis as evidenced by a publication. 7. Have some experience with protein display technologies. The role will also entail coordination with a CRO for crystal structure determination and biophysical characterization of our destabilizing domains.
