We have an opening in our Structural Biology and Drug Discovery group for a
postdoc within the #Scientiafellows programme at the Faculty of Medicine,
University of Oslo.

*The position is in Eva Cunha’s team within the Scientia thematic area of
cryo-EM structure determination of human membrane proteins. You will also
have access to career development programmes at the Faculty and Marie Curie

The ideal candidate:

·         Must have a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry or biophysics

·         Must have extensive hands-on experience with the expression,
extraction and purification of proteins and assembly of protein complexes,
including membrane proteins

·         Experience in cryo-EM sample preparation & optimization, data
collection on 300 kV cryoTEMs and data processing and structure solution to
high resolution is a plus

·         Experience in structural biology techniques such as x-ray
crystallography/SAXS is a plus.

·         Experience in structural characterization, model building and
interpretation is a plus.

·         Has experience in protein biophysical characterization (e.g.
circular dichroism, ITC, DSF, etc)

·         Mammalian cell culture experience is a plus

·         Experience in molecular modelling and docking is a plus

·         Must have the ability to independently perform & troubleshoot
experiments, analyze, and interpret results

·         Must have excellent English interpersonal, communication and
writing skills

·         Must have documented ability to write scientific manuscripts (one
or more first author papers each from their Ph.D. and/or postdoctoral
studies)

·         Demonstrated experience in obtaining competitive, international
research funding is a plus

·         Must have the ability to operate as a team player in a
multi-disciplinary environment
