Dear Colleagues,
A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Xin Liu, in
the Cecil H. and Ida Green Center for Reproductive Biology Sciences at UT
Southwestern Medical Center to study chromatin structure and genome regulation.
The basis of genome regulation by chromatin is a long-standing mystery in
biology. Research in the Liu Lab is focused on structure and function of large
chromatin complexes, which dictate formation of heritable chromatin structure
and impact genome function. These chromatin complexes are also frequently
dysregulated in human disease, including cancers and developmental disorders.
To achieve the research goal, the Liu Lab uses structural biology tools,
including biochemical reconstitution (e.g. protein-protein, protein-nucleosome,
or protein-non-coding RNA complexes), X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM, to
reveal three-dimensional structures of chromatin complexes. In addition, in the
ongoing projects the Liu Lab performs structure-based functional studies in
cancer and stem cells by employing genome editing and genomics tools. Examples
of recent publications from the lab include: Science 350:aac4383 (2015) (PMID:
26472914<https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26472914/>), eLife 6:e31558 (2017)
(PMID: 29185984<https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29185984/>), Molecular Cell
69:840-852 (2018) (PMID: 29499137<https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29499137/>),

32631994<https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32631994/>), Molecular Cell
77:1265-1278 (2020) (PMID:
31959557<https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31959557/>). More information can be
