Dear CCP4BB, I used to run coot from terminal using $coot <path to pdb> <path to map mtz>
However this way is no longer working after I updated CCP4 to 8.0 with Coot 0.9.8.7 In similar way, dimple script run-coot.py doens't work as intended — it will just open Coot but won't load structures and maps. Coordinates/maps still could be loaded from Coot menu. There are no errors/warnings when Coot is starting from the terminal.
