I had a friend who did that one time, and I believe I brought the dewar up to 
ambient temperature, laid it on its side, and tried to gently dislodge the 
shelved shipping cane while rolling the dewar to change the stuck puck’s 
orientation with gravity. If you look at a picture of the cane, you can figure 
out what orientation is most likely to be successful.

Oh, my friend also notes that you probably want to do a mass-loss test on the 
dewar after this, because the loose components may have caused some internal 
damage, even as they were handled with great care during shipping.
