Dear Colleagues,

The Liang Laboratory in the Department of Biochemistry, Emory University School
of Medicine, invites applications for up to five Postdoctoral Fellow positions
in Cryo-EM, Cryo-ET, and Structural Biology.

Our laboratory is building an internationally recognized research program in
Cryo-EM and Structural Biology to uncover the molecular mechanisms of human
disease. Our current research emphasizes the high-resolution structural
analysis of amyloid filaments and protein aggregates associated with
neurodegenerative diseases, while complementary research programs investigate
RNA virus polymerases, broad-spectrum antiviral discovery, and next-generation
Cryo-EM and Cryo-ET methodologies.

Open Positions
Cryo-EM Structural Biology (2–3 Positions)
Research opportunities include:

  *   Amyloid filament structure determination
  *   Cryo-EM sample preparation
  *   Single-particle analysis (SPA)
  *   Helical reconstruction
  *   Atomic model building
  * Method development for structural biology

Cryo-ET & In Situ Structural Biology (1–2 Positions)
Research opportunities include:

  *   Cryo-FIB and lamella preparation
  *   Cryo-electron tomography
  *   Subtomogram averaging (STA)
  *   In situ structural biology
  * Structural analysis of protein aggregates

 Who Should Apply?
We welcome outstanding candidates who hold (or expect to receive) a Ph.D. in
Structural Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Virology, Neuroscience, or
a related discipline. Applicants with experience in Cryo-EM, Cryo-ET, image
processing, helical reconstruction, subtomogram averaging, atomic model
building, or related structural biology techniques are particularly encouraged
to apply. We are looking for highly motivated scientists who enjoy
interdisciplinary research and aspire to develop independent research careers.

Why Join Liang Laboratory?
Joining Liang Laboratory offers the opportunity to help shape a rapidly growing
research program at the interface of structural biology, neuroscience, and
virology. Postdoctoral fellows will have access to:

  *   State-of-the-art Cryo-EM and Cryo-ET facilities
  * Advanced computational resources for image processing and structural
analysis
  * A collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment
  * Close mentorship in scientific leadership, manuscript preparation, and
career development
  * Opportunities to publish high-impact research and establish international
collaborations

 Application
Please submit a single PDF containing:

  *   Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  * Research Interests & Experience Statement (1–2 pages)
  * Cryo-EM/Cryo-ET Experience Summary (1 page, for applicants to
Cryo-EM/Cryo-ET positions)
  *   Representative publications (if applicable)
  * Contact information for three references

 Please send application materials to:
