Dear Colleagues,
I am writing with a heavy heart to share some sad news regarding my beloved
mentor and supervisor, Prof. Neil W. Isaacs.

I recently received a message from Prof. Isaacs in which he shared that his
Parkinson's disease has unfortunately progressed, and that he is currently
in hospital following a serious fall in which he suffered multiple broken
ribs. He has now been in hospital for six weeks and is hoping to return
home soon.

This news has deeply saddened me. Like many in the structural biology and
crystallography community, I have always known Prof. Isaacs as not only an
outstanding scientist and educator, but also as a kind, humble, and
generous mentor who has inspired and supported so many students and
colleagues throughout his career.

I would like to humbly request all members of the CCP4 community to keep
Prof. Isaacs in your thoughts and prayers. Whatever your faith or beliefs,
I hope you will join me in wishing him strength, comfort, relief from pain,
and a swift and complete recovery. May God bless him with renewed health
and enable him to return home and regain his strength.

Prof. Isaacs has touched the lives of countless researchers around the
world, and I know that your kind wishes and prayers will mean a great deal.

Thank you all for your kindness and support.

With sincere regards
Habib
