Hi all,
Following the DRIIMB Integrative Structural Biology Conference in Leeds there
will be a software carpentry workshop 15 - 16 October 2026. This two‑day
Software Carpentry workshop, delivered as part of the DRIIMB project,
introduces core software skills needed to develop high‑quality, reproducible
scientific software. Topics covered include using the Unix shell, version
control with Git, and Python.
The workshop is suitable for researchers and research support staff who want to
develop their own software, contribute to existing software projects, or gain a
better understanding of how research software is developed and maintained. No
prior programming experience is required.
Participants are asked to bring their own laptops (preferably with permission
to install software). The programme can be found here:
https://ccpbiosim.github.io/2026-10-15-DRIIMB/
To register for the workshop, go to
https://driimb.org/integrative-structural-biology-conference/register/ and
click the registration link. On the first page you can select registering for
the conference and then on the second page you can add the workshop to your
registration. While we encourage people to attend both, it is possible to
attend only the workshop or the conference without the workshop. The
registration deadline is 21 September 2026.
Please share this with any students or colleagues who might be interested in
improving their skills.

Best wishes,
Sarah and Harry
