You could do what I did in the box I have for running LSI-11's in: when I
upgraded the backplane from Q18 to Q22, I put in a 4-switch DIP pack, and ran
the extra address lines through that. So I can switch it back and forth
between Q18 and Q22.
I think my hack only works for LSI-11/2's (the dual with ones), not for the
original LSI-11's (the quad width ones), because obviously those pins are now
bussed together in all the lower slots, and so the switches only break the
runs between the left-hand and right-hand slots in the top slot.
If anyone wants a setup that can run an original LSI-11, you'd have to look
at the prints and see if that CPU cards only picks up those signals in the
left-hand slot (in which case that hack works); if it uses them on the right
(or both) it'd be a bit more complicated.
