I checked out a PDP-15 manual from bitsavers.

Yes the text is set in (afaict) a Selectric version of Futura, which
would explain the serif'd "I". So the digital font Chuck cited is indeed
the right family (albeit a shady unlicensed reseller).

Headings, cover and title pages are just Helvetica.
