Just a late imitation of the CDC 808 hard disk drive--the difference being that the 808 could handle several tracks at once without moving the heads. Big 6+ ft. boxes, 4 spindles. 2 5 hp spindle motors, 2 hydraulic positioners (808--807 was half that). When disk drives were *big*. Nihil sub sole novum. I think I have a single 808 head in my desk drawer, somewhere. https://ia800809.us.archive.org/30/items/TNM_Control_Data_807-808_Disk_Files_-_Control_Dat_20170826_0047/TNM_Control_Data_807-808_Disk_Files_-_Control_Dat_20170826_0047.pdf --Chuck
