My new Gimix machine has an IMI 18MB hard drive in it. About 6 years
ago was the last time the system was powered on and it booted from the
hard drive.
It has been suggested that before I even power up the hard drive to
image or boot from that I send it to a data recovery company to recover
the data.
Powering it up runs the risk of a crashed head ruining multiple tracks
on the platter(s).
What do you all thing and how much do you think it would cost to
recovery the drive commercially?
