If I remember correctly it was Diablo that sold an RK05-compatible drive with one fixed platter and one removable cartridge. I encountered it on a PDP 11/34 running Mini Unix and then, hmmm, Unix v<something small>. (Or maybe had to move to a larger disk system when we moved up from Mini Unix. The details have gotten hazy.)
