The desktop is fully functional. Everything that works on normal
desktop Ubuntu12.04LTS
works with LTSP5 on Ubuntu12.04LTS.
The only exception I can see is that when the cursor is on the
desktop background it changes
to "busy" with Gnome appearance.
If the cursor is moved on an application or on the panel, drawer,
minimized app etc
it returns to normal state and everything works as expected.

What I read was that is is functional, the issue being that
instead of
the usual 'X' cursor you get when on the backdrop, you get
this
gnomish-looking cursor.
