Hi Eugene.
Absolutely right. Yes it works on a standalone workstation. So I conclude it is an LTSP issue. Some things are strange with LTSP. For example, the login manager is LDM. Initially it's default language was en_US.UTF-8. I installed CDE the usual way and in the /usr/dt/bin/startxsession.sh script I put export
LANG=el_GR.UTF-8So I expected that the language was properly set. But to my surprise I had the following behaviour. The CDE desktop had everything in English but the echo $LANG in dtterm was giving el_GR.UTF-8 Then I changed the LDM language to el_GR.UTF-8, and immediately the desktop was in Greek in the next login. So, somehow, LDM managed to impose it's language settings to dtwm. This is not the font problem I have. I just wanted to point out that LDM does strange things and maybe my font problems come from this. In any case I attach the output of the commands you told me plus the Xorg log file.
With regular bitmap fonts it completely ignored them although they where listed by xlsfonts. thanks for any help, Antonis. |
