I have installed CDE for a while, but Linux instructions mention running ./cdesktopenv-code/cde/admin/IntegTools/post_install/freebsd/configRun -e as root after installation. This should take care of /etc/inetd.conf entries and making ttdbserver to start from inetd Marcin
