But the coding is exactly the same as I'm using. Only the MolFile and Clear links worked.

I am using the 2.2.1 release version of the applet.

Please have a look at the EditorApplet.html file in the cdk root directory (I attach this in case you do not have a svn checkout). This contains the smiles
display and works for me (in FF 1..5).
