I've set up my web server with the jchempaint applet 2.2.1.

I've edited the file EditorApplet.html so the path match my server, and
everything works. Click on the "Show mol file" link and the mol file is
displayed in a dialog.

But I actually want to grab a SMILES string, and in the API
<http://cdk.sourceforge.net/api/> I see there is a function getSmiles().

So I have changed the line in EditorApplet.html

<a href="javascript:alert(document.Editor.getMolFile())">show mol file</a>

to

<a href="javascript:alert(document.Editor.getSmiles())">show smiles</a>

And nothing happens. You click on the link in the displayed page in your
browser (FF 1509, FF 2001, IE 6 SP2), and no action, no error message,
nothing to indicate anything is happening (even at the server end).

What am I missing here?

Simon
