To Whom It May Concern:
I am a 4th grade elementary teacher. I would like to make some CDs of OpenOffice for my students to use at their home computers.
Is this permissable?
Hi Bruce,
Not only is it permissable, it is encouraged. For more info:
http://www.openoffice.org/license.html
Feel free to install it on as many computers as you wish in the school
as well and encourage your students to copy and pass it on to others.
It creates great opportunities to lead the students into a discussion on
IT ethics.
Do I need to sign something or meet some other requirement?
No.
I have a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology. I inform many people of the advantages of OpenOffice.
I would like to be able to hand OpenOffice out to my students with CDs supplied
by you, but I need to find out more details.
The main detail is we don't supply cds in the same way Ubuntu does but
they can be obtained for a reasonable cost through community
distributors, many of whom frequent this list. I'm sure someone will
put their hand up.
Thanks for a great product!
Thanks for the compliment, we're pretty proud of it.
Cheers
