Hi Donald,
The latest version of OpenOffice does have PDF built in, and allows you to
svae your work directly to this format if you wish.
There is NO charge for the software, simply go to www.openoffice.org and
then to the downloads tab.
Make sure that you pick the correct version for your machine.
The latest for Windows (98 se up to and including Vista) is 2.4
If you have another system, just browse to the required one.
You will see the option to download a version with, or without Java. It
always pays to take the one WITH. It will only instal this if you do not
already have the neccessary files.
SAVE the download, and then you can write to disc if you wish.
When you instal, you may not want to make this the default 'suite' until you
have tried it out.
In which case, DO NOT 'tick' the associate buttons as you go.
If you then wish to make it default, simply re-run the disc/saved file and
tick the buttons.
If you did wish to make a contribution to 'the cause', I copy below my 'crib
sheet' for Community Distributors which may be of interest to you.
Please do not hesitate to come back if you have a problem, quoting your
operating system please.
Regards
Andy Shiels.

Please note that Openoffice.org DO NOT send out CD's.
The act of producing the cd's and leaflets etc. for distribution is the

within the mission statements etc.
If you wish to be listed as a Distributor on the OO.o site, you can apply,
but please note that it may take a little while to activate.
e-bay
If you intend to 'market' the cd's on e-bay there are certain conditions
that you must conform to, and you will find these at:
http://distribution.openoffice.org/ebay_page.html
You can download the latest version (2.4) for win32, or browse for linux
and other alternatives if you need
them, by going back a page and clicking on the Download button (GREEN).
There are options for a download with,or without Java, suggest you take
the one with.
This may save you, or your 'customers' a second download from Java link,if
they do not have it on their machine.
SAVE the download, and this will then write to disc.
Look out for the links to disc templates, flyers, specification sheets
etc.
You will have to 'apply' to use these..
All web link buttons etc are available, just read through the mission
statements etc. and you can then follow the links for more info.
If you are also building, you may also like to consider registering as
o.e.m. suppliers (?)

All the best
