Dear All,

I am not sure if this is the right place to send this, but I thought it
important that you were notified of a company that charges a lot more than the
postage and packaging for Open Office.

I signed up with CD Earth from their website to order a pack of 4 CD's (all
open source software) at a stated price of $5.95 for the pack. The company sent
these through to me, although they did not say so on the site the software was
open-source (indeed they made it seem as if it was all commercial software).
The company then billed an extra $23.99 for no apparent reason (I found our
later that the CDs were $5.95 each, again not displayed on their website. They
then sent me four more CDs (unasked for) which they were going to charge me
$14.99 for each CD). I have endless trouble cancelling this and as they have my
credit card number they have the upper-hand.

Just to let you know.

The company is CD Earth at www.cdearth.com

I think this exploitation of open source software is shameful.
